CORONA VIRUS – COVID-19 POLICIES

In order to protect our patients, our employees, Dr. Kerr and our community, we are observing the following policies:

DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE IF: You have any symptoms of corona virus including fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss or sense of smell or taste, flu-like symptoms, aches, malaise, runny nose, headache, or if you may have been exposed to the virus or anyone with the virus within the past 14 days.

Patients age 65 or over or with pre-existing medical conditions including but not limited to diabetes, heart disease, chronic lung disease, or immunocompromised should make an appointment for a TELEMEDICINE VISIT instead of an in person visit. We prefer to call you on a smart-phone. For iphone and ipad, we use Facetime. For Galaxy, Samsung, Android, etc, we use DUO. If you do not have a smartphone, we can use Skype or Zoom on your computer. You must have a working camera and email address. Please ask a family member (child or grandchild) or friend for assistance to help you set this up, borrow it, or purchase it if you do not have it. We are now able to send controlled substance prescriptions electronically – you will not have to pick up a paper prescription in the office. A simple telephone call is not sufficient or adequate for assessment and treatment planning. If you cannot do telemedicine, you may need to come in.

For patients who must come to the office, YOU MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING. We have streamlined moving you to exam room from waiting room so that social distancing is observed and you will not be in close contact with other patients or staff. We have discontinued paper questionnaires. Do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your appointment. Do not bring anyone else with you unless you need someone to push your wheelchair in and out of the office, need someone to interpret for you, or have memory problems and need a family member there to hear and implement your care plan. You must leave immediately after your appointment. No one else can be in in the office and will be asked to leave.

Please do not ride up the elevator with anyone who is not in your immediate family. Wait for the next elevator. Touch the button with your elbow or pen.

We are frequently sanitizing surfaces. Please sanitize hands at front desk after entering office and before leaving. We are confident risk of exposure in the office is minimal.

Dr. Kerr is happy to provide you with education about how to properly use a face covering, proper washing or sanitizing hands so that you do not accidentally contaminate yourself or surfaces in your home.

Thank you for cooperating. Let’s all STAY SAFE!!!
